Bamboo and Water, Good or Bad?

So I was wondering I have bamboo makeup brushes (Eco Tools) and I also have these little beads that you put in water and they expand and feel similar to jelly. I was going to put the brushes in those beads (Which are slightly damp.) Will this rot or ruin the bamboo?
