How to ask your mom if you can model?

Hi, I have always wanted to get into the modeling/acting business but my mom doesn't want me too because she wants me to live a normal life without Paparazzi and stuff and I live in Michigan and cnt really move to California to expand my career. I am just wondering how I can convince my mom to let me follow my dreams..and how to even start modeling and acting when I only live in Michigan and can't go to California or somewhere big?=\ please help!!!
