How to put rear pegs on a 05 Ninja zx10r, that has an aftermarket exhaust on it?

My boyfriend recently bought a used Ninja from someone who had already taken rear pegs off bc his girlfriend didn't like bikes. And then he later added the aftermarket exhaust. So It's blocking on one side where the peg should go bc of the exhaust. Is there an extender or anything that we can do to get it fixed...So I can go for rides!!!! :) Any help would be greatly appreciated. No one around here seems to know anything.
