I broke my high E electric guitar string and i tried to remove it but it got stuck in the tuning peg.?

The string broke further when I tried to remove it. Leaving a 2cm long string at the tuning peg which gets really irritating because it got stuck there and with the short length, it makes it even harder to remove it. I need help please. Thanks.
