Correct way to hang washing clothes on line!?

Perhaps a silly question! but My wife passed away recently after many years together, and I never really noticed how she hung the washing out on the line! I have shirts for work and tea shirts to wear around the house! how is the best way to hang the shirts? They never seem to look right when I've pegged them! other things like towels and straight clothes I'm ok with! Many Thanks for your help!
